Terms of Oxford

Welcome to Oxford Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhireoxford.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Tenancy Agreement

All vehicle hires are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement supplied at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This document sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance cover, charges and your responsibilities for the particular hire. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.

2. Oxford Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Oxford, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old for Oxford bookings (age requirements may differ by vehicle type, and additional fees may apply to drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and documentation to verify identity, address and payment method.

3. Oxford Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Oxford location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are usually due on collection of the vehicle. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return (Oxford)

  • On collection, inspect the vehicle thoroughly and report any existing damage to Oxford without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage discovered on return will be evaluated and charged accordingly.

5. Liability and Insurance

  • Oxford provides basic third-party insurance with all rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. Oxford recommends reviewing these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amounts set out in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Cancellation and amendment policies differ by booking type and required notice period. Consult your booking confirmation or rental agreement from Oxford for full details. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur fees.

7. Restricted Uses

You must not use the hired vehicle for:

  • Any unlawful purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-road driving, or other dangerous uses. Conveying hazardous or regulated substances. Subletting or hiring the vehicle to third parties, or permitting unauthorised drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes the vehicle was not designed for...

Violating these restrictions may result in immediate Oxford rental termination and charges.

8. Oxford Liability Limits

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Oxford will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you to Oxford in the twelve months immediately preceding the event that gave rise to the claim.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes involving Oxford are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Amendments to Terms

Oxford may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on the Oxford website. Your continued use of Oxford services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
